On September 11th, PSCA held the annual seminar (organized since 2021) dedicated to IMO MEPC/EU-ETS issues. The meeting was held in Hotton Hotel in Gdynia.
Participants discussed practical experiences related to the introduction of EU ETS coverage (since January 1st, 2024) of cargo and passenger ships with a tonnage of at least 5,000 GT operating in the waters under the jurisdiction of the European Union/European Economic Area (from January 1, 2024).
Furthermore, Izabela Klonowska-Hincka (WindWaves), Robert Kopoczek “Nasgen.Pro”, Tomasz Krzywoń (TPS Aktiv) and Jarosław Kumorek (Diesel Air Poland) – presented the innovative technology and process of waste and garbage mineralization. The implementation of this solution in the shipping sector and on ships would allow shipowners and ship managers to significantly reduce the costs related to the management and collection of waste and garbage, as well as to replace the traditional, high-emission disposal (incineration) system with a modern, low-emission and ecological way of waste and garbage management. .
The meeting was concluded with traditional lunch and networking.
